These dies were developed for material requiring extreme pressure to bind, or for more density in cubes where fiber length is not important.

These dies are recommended for alfalfa or mixed ration cubes for dairy cows. The increased fiber and length optimizes ruminant animals performance, maintaining higher butter fat content, production and reduced compaction which is caused from large amounts of short fiber feed. The 2-7/8" (7.302 cm) fiber length competes with baled hay.

NOTE: Dies with heavier taper are available upon request (The moisture content of the materials will also affect what dies should be used).
Industry experience has shown:
- Higher taper results in higher compaction, with less free water needed;
- Higher taper and compaction reduces fiber length;
- Longer dwell time greatly increases cube durability without reducing fiber length.
